French Trip: Final Reminders

french flag French Trip: Final Reminders

Some quick, key reminders in preparation for our departure tomorrow.

1) Come to school at the normal time with your bags/cases, wearing mufti clothes but with your school jumpers.

2) Bring a throwaway packed lunch which we will eat before we leave for the ferry.

3) Bring a daybag/rucksack as well as your case.

5) Don’t forget a hat and some suncream. The forecast is for warm weather.

6) Bring French costume for French night and ‘disco clothes’ for the disco.

7) NO mobile phones or electronic devices except cameras.

8) Some spare carrier bags in which to put wet towels and dirty clothes will be useful.

See you all tomorrow morning at the normal time.

Mountains Projects

Year 6 have recently completed a research project. In their groups, they chose a particular mountian range and spent time reseraching all aspects about it.

They learnt about things like location, wildlife, recreation, people who have scaled the mountains and many other elements.

We set out all the projects in the hall and spent some time looking at all the other groups’ work. We left comments on a comment sheet to say what we thought about their projects.

Bread Making

Even with such a busy week we have managed to make and bake our bread! Designed and made entirely by the Year 6 pupils!

Clay Aztec Masks

Aztec Facts

We have been doing some more research on the Aztecs this morning.

Leave a comment with at least one fact you have learnt and can remember !

Aztec Mask Design

We have started designing some Aztec masks. They are going to be made out of clay and then decorated the week after.

This links in with our History topic!

This Morning’s Prezi

Suspense Writing

Here are some of our first efforts at writing using techniques to build suspense:

Tension and Suspense…

Take a look at this video – we’ll be using parts of it next week!

Bread Design Ideas

This morning, we have been generating ideas for making our own bread. Last week, we tasted lots of different types of bread and decided what we liked and what we didn’t like.

Here are some of our ideas.

Script Writing and Reading

Today, we did some work on converting a story into a script format. We used ‘George’s Marvellous Medicine’ as a stimulus. Here are some examples being read out.

Aztec PPT Presentations

We have been working on some Powerpoint presentations to show our research on The Aztecs. We will put the finished products online when they are done.
Can you give me some facts you have already learnt about The Aztecs? 1hp for each fact you leave as a comment!

Mountain Ranges Project

Tomorrow, you will be starting a large group project on Mountain ranges. Here is a video to get you thinking and planning.
